Drapes

Black, inherently flame retardant, sewn here

Black wool serge drape hanging in deep matte folds

Black wool serge

  • ~550 gsm
  • IFR
  • Dry clean only

Dense and matte, it hangs heavy and flat. Suits theatre, school masking and semi-permanent installs. Keep it dry: wool can shrink about 3 percent if wet.

A dark velvet drape hung full height on the portable frame in an office

Black velour

  • IFR
  • Machine washable

A pile cloth that reads rich on camera. Inherently flame retardant, so washing does not affect its rating; the 4 m and 6 m drops are big to handle, so other cleaning suits those. Suits hire and corporate AV.

Close-up of the Option D header: a hook-and-loop tab fed through its D-ring, fastened flush around the crossbar

Option D header

  • No tools
  • Wool or velour

It replaces eyes and ties. Hook-and-loop tape feeds around the crossbar and through the D-ring, fastening flush, so the finish is the same whoever hangs it.

Questions

Asked before every kit order

How does the portable drape system work?

Each bay is two telescopic uprights, a telescopic crossbar and base plates ballasted with 10 kg shot bags. Drapes hang on the Option D header, and extension kits link bays into a continuous wall of any length.

How high and how wide does it go?

Three kit heights: 3, 4 and 6 m drops. Each bay carries a 3.1 m wide drape on a crossbar that telescopes from 1.8 to 3 m, and every extension kit adds another bay.

Do we need tools to set it up?

No. The frame goes up without tools, the Option D header fastens without eyes and ties, and the kit packs into carry bags.

Wool or velour: which drape should we choose?

Both are black and inherently flame retardant. Wool serge, about 550 gsm and dry clean only, suits theatre and semi-permanent installs. Velour is machine washable and suits hire and corporate AV.

Can we hire a portable drape system?

Yes. The frame and its drapes are part of our hire stock. Check availability through rentals and hire.
