How it moves

Walkalong, corded or motorised

The profile carries the weight. The control method decides how the drape plays. Pick one and run it.

  • Walkalong2Way · ErailWalked along the track by hand. No cords, no motors, nothing to service. For perimeter masking, cycloramas and blackouts set before the audience arrives.
  • CordedUniTrack · UniBeam · ErailA rope-and-pulley line moves the drape from a fixed point side-stage, out of view. UniTrack and UniBeam run 17 cording methods, from centre opening to rearfold.
  • MotorisedSDrive · TDrive · TDrive HDA drive unit moves the drape on a pendant press, the same way every time. On straight track, SDrive on Erail pulls 150 kg; TDrive pulls 300 kg and TDrive HD 400 kg on UniTrack or UniBeam.

Track and cloth

The drape is sewn for its track

The heading is sewn to the runner spacing and the fullness to the stacking space, so the finished drop lands where the track sits.

Questions

Asked before every track order

Which track systems do you supply?

Triple E: UniTrack, UniBeam, Erail and 2Way, plus the SDrive and TDrive motors. Theatre Safe Australia, our parent company, is the exclusive Australian distributor, and chain-driven variants are available on request.

What is the difference between the four tracks?

Load and operation. At 1 m centres, UniTrack carries a 200 kg point load and UniBeam 535 kg. Erail is the compact school and studio track at 35 kg, with curtains to 8 m. 2Way is walkalong only, at 44 kg.

Can stage curtain track be motorised?

Yes. Erail takes the SDrive, which pulls 150 kg on straight track. UniTrack and UniBeam take the TDrive, at 300 kg straight or 200 kg curved, or the TDrive HD at 400 kg straight and 300 kg curved.

How much weight can curtain track carry?

It depends on the system and the suspension centres. At 1 m centres, point loads run from 35 kg on Erail to 535 kg on UniBeam, which also carries a 1070 kg distributed load. Every figure is published at a 5:1 safety factor.

Do you supply only, or install as well?

Both. Track and drapes ship Australia wide for venue crews to fit, or our installers hang and dress the system. For the engineering side, see how a track install runs at Theatre Safe Australia.
