- A surface treatment. Re-treat every 2 to 3 years, sooner after moisture.

Pick the family, or tell us the job and we will pick it with you. Our machinists cut and sew the cloth to your opening, finished top, sides and bottom.

Questions
Asked before every fabric order
What does GSM mean for stage fabrics?
Grams per square metre: the weight of the cloth. Heavier cloth such as wool serge, at about 550 gsm, hangs flatter and blocks more light. Lighter cloth such as sheer voile, at about 60 gsm, drapes and floats.
What is the difference between IFR, DFR and NDFR fabric?
IFR cloth is flame retardant in the fibre, so it is permanent. DFR and NDFR are treated, and re-treated every 2 to 3 years, NDFR sooner after moisture. NFR is not flame retardant until treated. Our fire ratings explainer covers all four.
How wide do stage fabrics come?
From 1.2 m velvet to 12 m sharkstooth gauze. Filled cloth runs to 9.2 m, PolyCyc to 6.2 m, and nessel and green screen canvas to 10 m. Width decides how many seams a finished drape carries.
How do I choose between velvet, wool serge and molton?
Velvet is the front-of-house cloth: deep colour and sound-absorbing. Wool serge is the masking workhorse: matte, dense and inherently flame retardant. Molton is brushed cotton in a 3 m width, practical for schools, studios and temporary spaces. Compare all three.
